providing diversified environmental engineering, consulting, construction and

created a technological niche in implementing cost-effective pollution control
technologies, such as BIO-SORPTIONä,
which treats a wide variety of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Bio-Sorption™
for VOC Treatment
Bio-Sorption™
is an advanced form of Biofiltration Technology which utilizes one-step
treatment using fluid sorption and aerobic microbial degradation. Bio-Sorption™
is especially designed to alleviate common problems associated with
Biofiltration such as: (i) improper humidification or loss of moisture (ii) bed
compacting, pluggage, and channeling; and (iii) lack of pH buffering capacity.
VEETech
successfully utilized Bio-sorption™ to treat a variety of VOC such as
aldehydes, ketones, esters, aromatics and substituted aromatic compounds. Many
of those compounds are Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs) as defined in the Clean
Air Act Amendment (CAAA) of 1990. Under the CAAA, emission of HAPS must be
reduced to less than 25T/yr (all HAPs combined) or to less than 10T/yr (one HAP
only) by the year 2000.
Bio-Sorption™
is most unique when compared against competing treatment technologies, as it
does not produce any toxic by-products or secondary wastes. The proprietary
design enhances the interfacial/film transport and the proprietary media
selectively absorbs and degrades the contamination.
VEETech
custom designs each Bio-Sorption™ installation for specific contaminants and
treatment conditions. The team tests the design before full-scale
implementation.
Bio-Sorption™
for Odor Control
Bio-Sorption™
for odor control is an advanced form of biofiltration technology which
alleviated the common drawbacks associated with biofiltration. Similar to
Bio-Sorption™ treatment for VOC abatement, the odor control units are designed
for one step treatment utilizing the combined principles of selective
contaminant sorption and aerobic microbial degradation.
VEETech
developed and tested several biofiltration media for successful sorption and
biodegradation of common odorous compounds such as: Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S),
Methanethiol (MT: commonly known as methylmercaptan), Dimethl Sulfide (DMS) and
Mimethyl Disulfide (DMDS). The test data indicates over 95% removal of all
odorous compounds. The media tested include several forms of organic composts.
The organic composts can also be premixed with selective adsorbents to increase
the removal efficiency.
